What is Individual counseling?

Individual counseling sessions are what comes to mind for most people when they think of counseling.  It is your typical 50 minute one on one session during which we will explore your patterns of thought and feelings and work towards goals we’ve set to help you reach your ideal way of life. Typically we will meet weekly so that your work in treatment is consistent and well maintained.

From week to week you bring with you issues or life experiences that have arisen and we’ll look at understanding their impact and explore ways to handle them.  Through use of mindfulness and other cognitive behavioral strategies you will develop a greater ability to see yourself in action, but from a more objective perspective.  You will get to know yourself in new ways, with more clarity and confidence, and become much more flexible and competent in handling what life throws at you.
